The Puma Clydes were popularized by Walt "Clyde" Frazier in the 1970s. They were an essential part of the original hip hop scene and skate punk areas, and are now worn as casual shoes, much like many shoes from that era. It too fell out of fashion on the basketball court, and are now being re-released as old school shoes nowadays. This popularized the basketball shoe on the street trend that is still going strong today.
